Brody took on some elite adult runners to finish 6th overall in a blistering time of 18:56 taking the record away from one of our other talented juniors Max who had set the mark earlier this year. It's great to see the boys developing into fine young runners and enjoying the sport.
Doing it for the girls, Paris headed down to the Jackie Fairweather Memorial Triathlon in Canberra. Competing over distances of 750m Swim, 20km bike and 5km run, Paris was 3rd female across the line overall, winning her age category with a solid 21:35 run off the bike.
Things will only get better for Paris when she picks up her new bike this week from our great support Stew "COMPUTER" Campbell at Happy Wheels. Look out she will be FAST!!!

Coach Jordan made a comeback to a race he loved as a young junior athlete and acted as pacer to our team throughout the race. Bailey was amazing finishing 2nd overall in 14:32. Elanor is really starting to develop her endurance running finishing 5th female only 3 seconds ahead of Billy who was 10th male. 20/08/2016 Australian Cross Country Championships
The Australian Cross Country Championships were held at Stromlo State Forest in Canberra ACT. The freezing and windy conditions were not a problem for our Up And Running Athletes who had trained through a very wet and cold Sydney Winter.
First to race was George in the 2 km, 10 Years Boys race. George stuck to his race plan and went out hard from the start placing himself toward the front in the early stages of the race. With about 200 metres to go George was in 7th place in a tight pack of runners. In the final stages of the race he put it all on the line but was unable to hold off the fast finishers in the sprint for the line. George finished an impressive 12th, an outstanding effort at his first National Championships.
Next up was Bailey in the very competitive 12 Years Boys 3km. Bailey was impressive throughout the two lap course firming a position in the top 10. On the second lap he showed outstanding determination to break the runners in the second pack and chase the front runners working his way to an amazing 4th place finish only seconds off a medal and second placed NSW athlete.
Little Sophie battled days of illness to get herself to the start line. She was strong from start to finish and displayed perfect running form and technique to finish 18th overall.
We look forward to a big future for these three very talented young athletes and know that they will be joined by even more Up And Running kids at the 2017 Australian Cross Country Championships.
